When you come into this world, you are pure, untainted. Your soul is a ball of light in its fullest form. The one thing we don't have control over is where we are placed upon birth. It could be in Africa, among a struggling family; it could be in a mansion on the hills; it could be on a farm somewhere. We are subjected to certain circumstances and have to deal with them the best we can. That said, we cannot control the trauma we endure, It is merely placed upon us. A common occurrence is called soul loss, where those pieces of pure light within us leave our body due to trauma. These pieces can also be taken from us in a process known as soul theft. With both of these, we need to retrieve these pieces back to our bodies in order to feel whole again. The issue is, most people are unaware their pieces have left and never retrieve them, thus never becoming whole again.

Ask yourself: do I feel like something is missing from my life? Am I often tired, depressed, or anxious? Do I feel disconnected from my self and my body? Do I feel lost and far from my true self? Do I have trouble knowing what's right for me in my life?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are most likely suffering from soul loss or theft. It is imperative to find these pieces because without all of your pieces, your body is out of balance. Imbalance in the body can lead to physical, mental, and spiritual issues manifesting. Who wants to live their life with part of themself missing?

Let me explain how and why soul loss and theft happens to someone. In our natural state, our body is working incessantly to keep us in a state of safety and homeostasis. Lets say something traumatic happened to you, maybe you got in a bad car accident. During the accident, a piece of your soul left your body in order to protect itself from being hurt. It is a defense mechanism to ensure that all of your soul pieces are in tact. A soul piece will never leave you because it doesn't like you, or for any other arbitrary reason. It simply wants to stay safe. So any circumstance where a soul piece is threatened and unsafe, it will leave your body. In some cases, the soul piece will naturally come back to you once it feels safe again. But in a lot of cases, soul pieces may become lost and have to be tracked down to return; or are simply not ready to come back yet. Every instance of soul loss is varied and must be discerned to pursue the right treatment. Soul pieces can also be taken from you, which is known as soul theft. The one thing to know about soul theft is someone only will have a piece of them taken it they allow it to be. However, it is not always in our best means of survival to hold on to a soul piece from someone trying to take it. For example, a little boy is being abused by his mother. The mother beats him and emotionally belittles him. She is obviously a soul thief, whether she knows it or not, trying to suck out any sovereignty he has. The boy is trying to protect himself against the abuse, so the best course of action would likely be to give up a piece of his soul in order to survive. Soul theft is also conducted with oblivion in many cases. A crowded street, with hundreds of people walking up and down is bound to have a few people having a hard day. These people are projecting insecurity and negativity out from their bodies and often it will take energy from people close by, giving the person more power. Soul theft is a very common thing now a days and it's important to remember not to give up your soul to people, whether it be through a thought, judgement, or action. I will not allow this mans anger to make me angry; I will not let this woman's sadness make me sad.

So, where exactly do these soul pieces end up, and how can we get them back? In shamanism, it is necessary to perform a soul retrieval or extraction. This involves a shaman going into a trance meditation (or shamanic journey) to learn more about the soul piece and what must be done next. The shaman will either take the client with them in the journey or perform the retrieval themself. The shaman will use the help of their spirit animals and guides to understand where the soul piece may be, if it is ready to come back yet, or if something needs to be extracted. Extracting energy comes from another form of soul loss when a certain energy is misplaced in someones body, or not supposed to be there. These energies can block the energetic field and cause imbalance in the body. If an extraction is necessary, the shaman will find the client in a journey and remove whatever energy is misplaced and put it back into the universe. It is hard to say where soul pieces hide in this "non ordinary reality". In this realm, there are three worlds; the lower, middle, and upper world. Each world has a different set of properties and holds different wisdom. There are also multiple levels to the lower and upper world. When a soul piece leaves the body, it will go to either one of the worlds to hide until it is ready to come back. It is somewhat unpredictable which world you will find a piece in, so the shaman must traverse every world to find remaining pieces. It is common that if a shaman finds a piece, the piece will communicate that it is not quite ready to return. In that case, the shaman will learn what the client must do in order for the piece to come back. In the case of soul pieces being stolen, the shaman or client will revisit the person that stole the piece and do the necessary work to take back what is theirs. I have experienced pieces coming back to me and they have been the most beautiful and completing feelings I have ever felt. It feels amazing to reconnect with lost parts of yourself.

This can be a very challenging thing to approach, but I want you to know that it will change you forever. And I would love to support you on your journey. Please feel free to reach out to me if soul retrieval is something that may benefit you, and we can discuss options. Your soul pieces are calling out to you! Go get em!

With love and gratitude,

Luke :)
